Abstract
Abstract This invention relates to polyester salts containing quaternary ammonium groups, obtainable by polycondensation of N-alkyldialkanolamines with dicarboxylic acids, particularly maleic acid, and quaternization of the polyester with a haloacetic acid. Additional sulfonic acid groups can be introduced into the polyester molecule by reaction with an alkali metal hydrogen sulfite. The polyester salts are utilized as soil suspension agents in washing compositions.
