Abstract

Abstract A body restrainer is described particularly suitable for restraining disorderly patients who enter or are confined to institutions for medical care. In particular the body restrainer comprises a set of crossed belts which have quick engagement buckles which lock onto anchoring means attachable to a bedstead or stretcher. Additionally, the restraining belts have fastened thereto retractable loops for the insertion of the arm or wrist of the patient, which loops can be quickly drawn tight about the arm or wrist. The quick engagement and quick release mechanism utilized permit the rapid subduing of a disorderly patient with a minimum of personnel. In the same manner, the patient can be quickly released from the body restrainer when desired.
