Abstract
Abstract The yield strength of aging nitrogenized low carbon cold rolled steel is raised to a level in the vicinity of 80,000 psi by rapidly heating the steel to a temperature in the range of 1,319*F. to 1,400*F. for a period of 3-60 seconds, quenching, prestraining at least 2 percent, and finally aging.
