Abstract

Abstract L-ascorbic acid tablets which contain more than about 90 weight percent of L-ascorbic acid and have a satisfactory mechanical strength can be obtained by spray-coating L-ascorbic acid powder capable of passing through a 200-mesh screen, with a solution of a binder under constant agitation in fluidized-bed granulating apparatus, until the amount of the binder has reached about 2 to about 4 weight percent relative to L-ascorbic acid, and compressing the resultant granules mixed with a lubricant into tablets.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 54 words
L-ascorbic acid granules produced by spray-coating L-ascorbic acid powder, having a size such that it passes through a 200-mesh screen, with a solution of a binder under constant agitation in a fluidized-bed granulating apparatus until the amount of the binder has reached about 2 to about 4 weight percent relative to the L-ascorbic acid.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 54 words
L-ascorbic acid granules produced by spray-coating L-ascorbic acid powder, having a size such that it passes through a 200-mesh screen, with a solution of a binder under constant agitation in a fluidized-bed granulating apparatus until the amount of the binder has reached about 2 to about 4 weight percent relative to the L-ascorbic acid.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
L-ascorbic acid granules according to claim 1, wherein the binder is a water soluble or organic solvent-soluble binder.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 14 words
L-ascorbic acid granules according to claim 2, wherein the binder is a water-soluble binder.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 34 words
L-ascorbic acid granules according to claim 3, wherein the binder is selected from the group consisting of pregelatinized starch, pregelatinized modified starch, a water-soluble cellulose, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyvinyl alcohol, dextrin, gum arabicum and gelatin.
Claim 6
Independent Claim 56 words
A method for producing L-ascorbic acid granules which comprises spray-coating L-ascorbic powder, having a size such that it passes through a 200-mesh screen, with a solution of a binder under constant agitation in a fluidized-bed granulating apparatus until the amount of the binder has reached about 2 to 4 weight percent relative to the L-ascorbic acid.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 56 words
A method for producing L-ascorbic acid granules which comprises spray-coating L-ascorbic powder, having a size such that it passes through a 200-mesh screen, with a solution of a binder under constant agitation in a fluidized-bed granulating apparatus until the amount of the binder has reached about 2 to 4 weight percent relative to the L-ascorbic acid.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
A method according to claim 5, wherein not lower than 50 weight percent of the L-ascorbic acid passes through a 325-mesh screen.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 23 words
A method according to claim 5, wherein the concentration of the binder in the solution is about 1 to about 10 weight percent.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method according to claim 5, wherein the binder is a water-soluble or organic solvent-soluble binder.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 13 words
A method according to claim 8, wherein the binder is a water-soluble binder.
