Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim
141 words
In a load bearing connection for a first mechanical part positioned between the ears of a second mechanical yoke part having axial openings through said parts comprising: a locking collar having a resilient metal bushing of selected metallurgical properties having a flange at one end, of length at least the length of an opening through one of said mechanical parts and positioned within said opening; a longitudinal slot through said bushing and flange, a uniform diameter pin extending through said openings and said bushing, said pin of length substantially no greater than the outside width across the assembled parts and collar, the internal diameter of said collar less than the diameter of said pin such that said collar and pin are firmly clamped for rotation together relative to said parts which openings are larger than the outside diameter of said collar.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
33 words
The apparatus as in claim 1 in which said pin has a flange on one end, and said flanged locking collar is positioned within an opening on the other end of said pin.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
35 words
The apparatus as in claim 1 in which said axial opening in said first part is counterbored to a diameter larger than the diameter of said flange, whereby said flange is concealed within said counterbore.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
26 words
The apparatus as in claim 1 including a flanged locking collar on each end of said pin, with the flanges on the outside of said ears.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
31 words
The apparatus as in claim 1 wherein at least one flanged locking collar on one end of said pin with said at least one flange on the inside of one ear.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
29 words
The apparatus as in claim 1 including at least two flanged locking collars, one on each end of said pin, with both flanges on the inside of said ears.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
56 words
The apparatus as in claim 1 including a third mechanical yoke part having an opening for said connector, said third yoke positioned between said ears of said second part, at least one locking collar on said pin within said second part, and a second locking collar on said pin within the opening of said third part.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
21 words
The apparatus as in claim 1 in which said first mechanical part is a link of a chain, or the like.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
17 words
The apparatus as in claim 1 in which said first part comprises a hook or the like.
