Claim 1
Independent Claim 76 words
A process for the preparation of a water-soluble condensation produce which is not self-crosslinking, comprising reacting a polyamine selected from the group consisting of a polyalkylenepolyamine, a reaction product of a dicarboxylic acid and excess polyalkylenepolyamine and a reaction product of a dicarboxylic acid, aminocarboxylic acid or lactam thereof and excess polyalkylenepolyamine, with an alkylene dihalide in an aqueous medium at 0° to 120° C. and a pH above 6 in the presence of an emulsifier.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 76 words
A process for the preparation of a water-soluble condensation produce which is not self-crosslinking, comprising reacting a polyamine selected from the group consisting of a polyalkylenepolyamine, a reaction product of a dicarboxylic acid and excess polyalkylenepolyamine and a reaction product of a dicarboxylic acid, aminocarboxylic acid or lactam thereof and excess polyalkylenepolyamine, with an alkylene dihalide in an aqueous medium at 0° to 120° C. and a pH above 6 in the presence of an emulsifier.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 13 words
A process according to claim 1 in which the polyamine is a polyalkylenepolyamine.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 13 words
A process according to claim 1, in which the polyamine contains amide groups.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 20 words
A process according to claim 1, in which the polyamine comprises a mixture of polyalkylenepolyamines and polyamines containing amide groups.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 13 words
A process according to claim 1, in which the alkylene dihalide is 1,2-dichloroethane.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 12 words
A process according to claim 1, in which the emulsifier is non-ionic.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
A process according to claim 1, in which the emulsifier is an oxyethylation product of a fatty alcohol or unsaturated fatty acid.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 29 words
A process according to claim 1, in which the emulsifier is present in 0.08 to 0.01% relative to the weight of a 22.5% strength solution of the condensation products.
