Abstract

Abstract A chloro β-trifluoromethylpyridine is produced by reacting a chloro β-trichloromethylpyridine with hydrogen fluoride in the presence of a specific metal fluoride in a vapor phase at high temperature for a short time. The chloro β-trifluoromethylpyridines which are useful as intermediates for agricultural chemicals and medicines can be obtained at high yield.
