Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 54 words
A process for drying extracts of plant or plant part origin obtained by high-pressure extraction with liquefied gases or gases in the supercritical state whereafter the extract is recovered from the gas stream, wherein the improvement comprises the step of removing moisture from the gas stream laden with the extract, before recovering the extract.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 54 words
A process for drying extracts of plant or plant part origin obtained by high-pressure extraction with liquefied gases or gases in the supercritical state whereafter the extract is recovered from the gas stream, wherein the improvement comprises the step of removing moisture from the gas stream laden with the extract, before recovering the extract.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 75 words
A process for drying extracts of plant or plant part origin obtained by high-pressure extraction with liquefied gases or gases in the supercritical state whereafter the extract is recovered from the gas stream, wherein the improvement comprises the step of removing moisture from the gas stream laden with the extract, before recovering the extract, by passing the gas stream laden with the extract over and/or through a solid drying agent in powder or granular form.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 75 words
A process for drying extracts of plant or plant part origin obtained by high-pressure extraction with liquefied gases or gases in the supercritical state whereafter the extract is recovered from the gas stream, wherein the improvement comprises the step of removing moisture from the gas stream laden with the extract, before recovering the extract, by passing the gas stream laden with the extract over and/or through a solid drying agent in powder or granular form.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 21 words
The process of claim 2 wherein the drying agent is silica gel, magnesium oxide, aluminum oxide, bleaching earth or calcium sulfate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 12 words
The process of claim 3 wherein the liquified gas comprises carbon dioxide.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 3, wherein calcium sulfate is used as the drying agent.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 29 words
The process of claim 5, further comprising the steps of regenerating the calcium sulfate containing moisture, by treatment with hot air at a temperature of 100° to 300° C.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 13 words
The process of claim 6 wherein the temperature used is about 170° C.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 93 words
The process of claim 2 or 3 wherein there are provided two separate dryers containing the drying agent for treating the gas stream, further comprising the steps of passing the gas stream through a first one of the two dryers while simultaneously subjecting the drying agent in the second one of said dryers to treatment with hot air at a temperature of 100° C. to 300° C. to regenerate the drying agent therein, and thereafter, passing the gas stream through the second dryer while simultaneously regenerating the drying agent in the first dryer.
