Abstract

Abstract A liquid crystal device comprising a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal disposed therebetween. At least one of the substrates has a color filter layer, a protective layer and a transparent electrode formed in the order named thereon. The protective layer has a coefficient of linear expansion 0.01 to 6 times that of the transparent electrode.
