Abstract
Abstract A hot melt ink for an ink jet printer comprises 50 wt. % or more of a solid wax that is solid at normal temperatures and has a solubility parameter of not larger than 9.00, an organic substance having a solubility parameter greater than that of the solid wax, a polymer material that is miscible with at least one of the solid wax and the organic substance and which has a weight average molecular weight of not less than 500, and a coloring material. The hot melt ink exhibits good dispersability and dispersion stability of the coloring material with good heat stability and color fastness to light.
