Claim 3

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein the questionnaire and/or forms provide a structure to collect the customer specific data including: the customer specific data, a description of the customer specific data, the environmental information relating to the customer specific data, volatility of the customer specific data, and where the information is located.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein said parsing step (b) parses the customer specific data at least one of manually or automatically.

Claim 5

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein the environmental data includes at least one of how long a subscriber keeps files on a server without deleting, how the subscriber updates the subscriber data, how the administrator manipulates the subscriber data over time, subscriber physical location, and subscriber point of presence.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein the business data includes at least one of pre-paid subscriber data, how the subscriber purchases services and products, subscriber discounts, billing rates, subscriber free subscriptions, and information.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein the information source requirements include at least one of physical location and logical location where the information is located.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein the core business rules include a minimum predetermined set of rules used to conduct customer business operations including administering a customer account.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein the core data sources include a minimum predetermined data set which the customer is required to supply to perform the subsequent retrieval of the information.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein said providing step (a) further comprises the step of providing a customer with a questionnaire comprising an interview template and/or forms to collect customer specific data, and collecting the customer specific data, wherein the interview template and/or forms guide the customer through a process of identifying and recording the customer specific data supporting the retrieval of the information.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein said determining step (f) further comprises the step of determining the information requiring the retrieval including business operational systems information, the business operational systems information including at least one of: database name or file name location of database or file type of data base business rationale for each database or file database table descriptions and relationships data element descriptions for database tables or files business rules that dictate database or file data integrity update policies and frequency data volumes data volatility.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein said determining step (f) further comprises the step of determining the information requiring the retrieval including Internet system log information, the Internet system log information including at least one of locations of data collection points, data volumes, operating system type and version, and file formats, regarding at least one of the following server logs: access log, a radius log, an accounting log, a proxy access log, a referer log, and a mail log.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein said providing step (a) further comprises the step of collecting the customer specific data using data collection templates and/or forms to inventory at least one of: types of services provided billing information service information customer identification information on-line content electronic commerce applications.

A method of collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers according to claim 1, wherein said providing step (a) further comprises the step of collecting the customer specific data using data collection templates and/or forms to inventory at least one of: location and attributes of point of presences topology and capacity of access facilities topology and capacity of internet facilities types, names and locations of servers.

In a computer system for analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers, the computer system including at least one subscriber request, at least one server, connectable to said at least one subscriber station, said at least one server providing said least one subscriber station access to external data sources, and at least one data collection and analysis system including at least one analysis module, a system for collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyze Internet and/or electronic commerce data over the World Wide Web for commerce, the subscriber information being collected from a questionnaire and/or forms, the subscriber information including customer specific data, comprising: a user interface, for collecting the customer specific data from the questionnaire and/or forms, collecting the customer specific data including environmental data and business data using the questionnaire and/or forms, determining information source requirements representing predetermined requirements and optional decision support requirements representing subscriber specified requirements responsive to the customer specific data, determining core business rules and core data sources responsive to the information source requirements, determining optional incremental business rules and optional incremental data sources responsive to the decision support requirements, determining the information requiring retrieval, and analyzing the Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web utilizing the core business rules, the core data sources, the optional incremental business rules, and the optional incremental data sources to provide business decision support.

In a computer system for analyzing Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web for service providers, the computer system including at least one subscriber request, at least one server, connectable to said at least one subscriber station, said at least one server providing said least one subscriber station access to external data sources, and at least one data collection and analysis system including at least one analysis module, a system for collecting subscriber specified information for supporting retrieval of information to analyze Internet and/or electronic commerce data over the World Wide Web for commerce, the subscriber information being collected from a questionnaire and/or forms, the subscriber information including customer specific data, comprising: a user interface, for collecting the customer specific data from the questionnaire and/or forms, collecting the customer specific data including environmental data and business data using the questionnaire and/or forms, determining information source requirements representing predetermined requirements and optional decision support requirements representing subscriber specified requirements responsive to the customer specific data, determining core business rules and core data sources responsive to the information source requirements, determining optional incremental business rules and optional incremental data sources responsive to the decision support requirements, determining the information requiring retrieval, and analyzing the Internet and/or electronic commerce data over or from the World Wide Web utilizing the core business rules, the core data sources, the optional incremental business rules, and the optional incremental data sources to provide business decision support.
