Claim 1
Independent Claim
108 words
A method of providing patterned interconnections on an insulating substrate with a reusable mandrel comprising: providing a pattern of liftable metal having isolated disconnected pattern parts on a permanent mandrel having a corresponding nonliftable electrically-conductive pattern thereon, with a nonliftable patterned dielectric material on the mandrel in between the liftable metal pattern; and pressing an adhesive-bearing substrate over said liftable metal pattern such that the adhesive contacts said liftable metal pattern and such -that said liftable metal pattern is transferred to said substrate without the aid of any necessary interconnection between isolated disconnected pattern parts and whereby said patterned dielectric material provides improved definition of the pattern transferred.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
15 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said substrate is flexible and said mandrel is rigid.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
15 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said mandrel is flexible and said substrate is rigid.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
19 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said liftable metal pattern is electroformed on top of said nonliftable electrically-conductive pattern.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
33 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said mandrel is glass having a semitransparent conductive layer thereon on which said nonliftable pattern is formed, thereby to permit the formation of fine definition liftable patterns.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
10 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said mandrel is metal.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
21 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said nonliftable pattern includes metals taken from the group consisting of gold, chromium and copper.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
18 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said nonliftable pattern is passivated prior to electroforming the liftable pattern thereon.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
21 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said liftable pattern is taken from the group consisting of nickel, copper, gold and silver.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
13 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said adhesive-bearing substrate is a temporary substrate.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
22 words
The method of claim 10 wherein the pattern on said temporary substrate is lifted from said temporary substrate onto a permanent substrate.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim
24 words
The method of claim 1 and further including the step of curing the adhesive on said adhesive-bearing substrate after liftoff of said liftable pattern.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim
34 words
The method of claim 1 and further including the step of curing the pattern on saia adhesive-bearing substrate after liftoff of said liftable metal pattern, including the utilization of pressure during the curing process.

Claim 16
Dependent Claim
9 words
A product made by the method of claim 1.
