Claim 1
Independent Claim 40 words
A method of providing a source of fiber in the diet of a mammal comprising administering to the mammal an amount of whole yeast β-glucan sufficient to aid digestion, reduce dehydration or reduce the serum cholesterol level in the mammal.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 40 words
A method of providing a source of fiber in the diet of a mammal comprising administering to the mammal an amount of whole yeast β-glucan sufficient to aid digestion, reduce dehydration or reduce the serum cholesterol level in the mammal.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method of claim 1 wherein the whole yeast β-glucan is in a biologically acceptable carrier.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 24 words
A method of claim 2 wherein the carrier is sterile saline or water, and the composition is administered orally or through a feeding tube.
